NBP Energy Efficiency
Our commitment to energy efficiency and environmental conservation are key factors in our product offering. We work toward this goal by partnering with ENERGY STAR® and offering windows and sliding doors built with the highest energy efficiency and performance in mind. Environmental awareness is at the forefront of our work, from design to the innovative creation of manufacturing practices that are aligned with our core values.
ENERGY STAR® is the trusted and government-endorsed standard for energy efficiency. It is represented by a small symbol, assuring the product meets high energy efficiency. ENERGY STAR® provides straightforward, reliable, and unbiased data essential for consumers and businesses, empowering them to make informed choices.
The National Fenestration Rating Council is a non-profit organization that establishes objective window, door, and skylight energy performance ratings to help you compare products and make informed purchase decisions.
Thermal Transmittance and Resistance (U and R-Values)
Thermal transmittance, also known as U-value, is the heat transfer rate between a window's interior and exterior. The R-value of a window, also known as “thermal resistance,” is simply the reciprocal of the U-value (1/U). So, if a window has a U-Value of 0.20, it will have an R-Value of 5 (1/0.20).
The higher a window's R-value, the greater its insulating properties and, thus, its energy efficiency. Our Performance Package windows feature one of the highest double-glazed R-values in the industry, for the ultimate in energy efficiency and thermal performance.
